The girl’s health
Appropriate healthcare for girls and teenagers is essential for their well-being in adulthood. Ensure your daughter has a peaceful and safe upbringing – book an appointment with the specialists at INVICTA.
At INVICTA Clinics, we have been supporting women’s health for over 25 years, with a deep understanding of how their needs change at different stages of life. Thanks to our expertise in intimate and reproductive health, we know how important it is to take a proactive approach to care from a very young age.
The first gynaecological consultation takes place around the time of the first period, usually between the ages of 11 and 16. The examination is tailored to the individual – younger patients undergo an abdominal ultrasound, whilst older patients have a transvaginal ultrasound. During the appointment, the doctor will ask about the patient’s menstrual cycle and her general state of health. Our aim is to ensure that young patients feel safe and fully understand the processes taking place in their bodies.
The choice of a suitable method of contraception is always made on an individual basis, taking into account the patient’s age, health and lifestyle. During the consultation, the doctor will outline the available options, explain in detail how they work, and help you choose the safest and most convenient solution. We want our young patients to be fully informed about their chosen method of contraception and to be confident that it is a safe, informed choice that best suits their needs.

The most important thing is to explain calmly and matter-of-factly what the appointment involves and why it is important. As part of the preparation, she could make a note in advance of her period dates, any symptoms or changes that are causing her concern. It is important that your daughter knows she has nothing to be ashamed of – this is a natural part of looking after her health.
It is advisable to consult a doctor if you are considering becoming sexually active, have concerns about safety, or need to regulate your menstrual cycle. A specialist will outline the available options, explain how they work, and help you choose the most suitable solution based on your age and state of health.
Mild symptoms may occur at the start of puberty, but severe pain that interferes with daily life should not be ignored. It may indicate hormonal imbalances, deficiencies or developing abnormalities. In such cases, it is advisable to consult a doctor to identify the cause of the pain and initiate appropriate medical treatment.
Yes, for many teenage girls, acne is caused by natural hormonal changes. However, if the skin lesions are severe, painful, do not respond to skincare, or appear suddenly, it is worth consulting a gynaecologist or dermatologist. A specialist will help determine whether hormonal testing or medication is required.
The most important thing is to adopt a calm, supportive approach and have an open conversation. If the difficulties persist, get worse or affect day-to-day life, it is worth seeking help from a psychologist. A specialist consultation will help to understand the source of these difficult emotions and teach the young person how to cope with stress, change and peer pressure.
