  • Initial infertility diagnosis is crucial to the effectiveness of treatment, as it enables the identification of the specific causes of fertility problems. This allows doctors to draw up a personalised treatment plan, tailored to the individual needs and specific health issues of each couple. Accurate diagnosis increases the chances of selecting the most effective treatment method, which significantly improves the likelihood of achieving pregnancy.

  • All diagnostic tests for which you receive a referral from our doctor are carried out by INVICTA Medical Laboratories.

    1. If you do not have your own eggs
      Every woman is born with a specific number of eggs, which are ‘used up’ over the course of her life. Some women have more eggs from the very start of their lives, others fewer, but there are also those who have no eggs in their ovaries at all. The depletion or absence of one’s own ovarian reserve is one of the most common reasons for using donor eggs in IVF treatment.
      The loss of eggs may result from cancer treatment (chemotherapy, radiotherapy, or surgical removal of the ovaries). Once you have recovered, thanks to donated eggs, you can confidently plan a pregnancy.
      Another reason for a lack of eggs is the menopause. This is a natural and physiological stage in a woman’s life, occurring around the age of 50. However, this process can sometimes occur earlier, in which case it is referred to as premature menopause. Premature menopause affects one in a hundred women before the age of 40 and one in a thousand women before the age of 30.
    2. If previous IVF attempts using your own eggs were unsuccessful
      Have you already undergone IVF treatment using your own eggs at another clinic, and did the treatment not result in a pregnancy? It is worth exploring new options. At INVICTA, we always analyse your previous treatment records to draw conclusions and improve your treatment in the next cycle. If the failure was due to poor egg quality or if you were unable to obtain your own eggs, it is worth considering IVF using donor eggs.     3. You are a carrier of a genetic abnormality that cannot be ruled out by embryo testing
      Preimplantation genetic testing (PGT) enables the detection of the most significant chromosomal abnormalities (e.g. Down’s syndrome) and single-gene disorders (e.g. cystic fibrosis).
      However, if you are a carrier of a condition resulting from the interaction of multiple genes and environmental factors (e.g. schizophrenia, Alzheimer’s disease), or a carrier of a mitochondrial genome mutation, you can use donated gametes to prevent passing the condition on to your child.
    4. Your partner has poor-quality sperm or is azoospermic
      If you both have poor-quality gametes or none at all, this IVF programme allows you to use both donor eggs and donor sperm simultaneously. This is an alternative to adopting an embryo from patients who have already completed their IVF treatment.
      You select a donor egg and a donor sperm separately, based on your physical characteristics (phenotype). Our embryologist then carries out in vitro fertilisation to produce embryos for you. This significantly reduces the time required and increases the success rate of the treatment.
  • Unfortunately, pre-implantation genetic testing is not funded under the government’s ‘Yes to IVF’ programme. Importantly, such a transfer will not count towards the cycle limit and no eligibility assessment appointment will be required.
