Embryo donation, also known as embryo ‘adoption’, offers a unique opportunity for couples who are unable to use their own gametes to become parents. At INVICTA Clinics, we run an embryo donation programme. This enables couples who have successfully completed their IVF treatment to donate their embryos to other couples in need. The entire embryo ‘adoption’ process is carried out anonymously, and the waiting time for embryos can range from 6 to 12 months.
However, at INVICTA Clinics, you also have the option of double donation, i.e. an IVF programme using a donor egg and donor sperm. You will receive embryos created specifically for you. This solution reduces the treatment time to as little as one month.
We transfer the embryos on the 5th day of development, increasing the success rate by 20% (compared with transferring embryos on the 3rd day of development).
We are introducing targeted therapies for, amongst other things, genetic and immunological problems, as well as problems with embryo implantation.
We monitor hormone levels and adjust medication doses to ensure optimal conditions for embryo implantation.
From 1 June 2024, if you are Polish citizen, you are eligible for six cycles of embryo retrieval funded by the state budget. Each cycle includes phenotypic selection of the embryo, preparation, embryo transfer and early pregnancy care.
The programme includes preparing the patient for embryo transfer, 2 viable embryos (blastocysts) and embryo transfer following thawing.
The programme covers all services included in the IVF programme, including embryo retrieval and a course of medication for the patient whilst she is preparing for embryo transfer.
In an in vitro programme using donor oocytes and donor sperm, you enjoy more benefits compared to using embryos from the patients themselves. Firstly, the waiting time for donor selection is shorter – you can reserve your chosen material from the Donor Database today. This also reduces the duration of your treatment to as little as one month! Secondly, we will create embryos specifically for you and your partner – phenotypic matching will be more precise, and the material will come from donors who have undergone thorough screening.

Embryo adoption is an option for couples who are unable to use their own gametes when trying for a baby and who wish to experience pregnancy and childbirth.
Embryo donation is available to couples – a man and a woman, whether married or in an informal (cohabiting) relationship – who have medical indications for in vitro fertilisation and embryo donation.
Procedures relating to embryo retrieval are similar to traditional in vitro procedures and comply with all medical and safety standards. Patients who opt for embryo retrieval may undergo pre-implantation genetic testing (PGT).
The costs of embryo retrieval are lower than those of traditional in vitro procedures, but depend on any additional tests and the specialist expertise required. From 1 June 2024, funding for embryo retrieval is available from the state budget.
The process of obtaining embryos can take anywhere from a few weeks to as long as 12 months, depending on the availability of embryos that are phenotypically compatible with the couple. An alternative is to use dual donation, i.e. in vitro fertilisation using a donor’s eggs and a donor’s sperm. Donor gametes are already available and stored at the INVICTA Fertility Bank.
The programme applies to embryos donated by patients who have successfully completed in vitro fertilisation treatment. Selection is based on the couple’s phenotypic data, such as hair colour and eye colour. However, at the INVICTA Clinic, it is also possible to use donor eggs and donor sperm. In this case, you can choose the donors yourself from the Donor Database.
The number of embryos you receive as part of the embryo retrieval procedure depends on your choice of funding. If you opt for a private programme, you will receive 2 viable embryos at the blastocyst stage.
If you are receiving funding for embryo retrieval under the 2024–2028 government programme, you are eligible for up to 6 embryo retrieval cycles. Each reimbursed cycle consists of pre-treatment preparation, embryo transfer of 1 viable blastocyst-stage embryo, and early pregnancy care.
