There’s no single path to follow after an unsuccessful IVF – it’s your own

What you’ve been through so far does matter. Because every procedure provides information. Choose the option that best describes the stage you’re at right now.

I need to recharge my batteries

Prepare your body for your next attempt. Sleep, stress, diet and metabolism are all factors that have a real impact on fertility. During NAMI’s residential recovery programmes, we’ll ensure that your body is in the best possible condition before you continue with your treatment.

I’ve already done 1–3
attempts

In this situation, you may need in-depth diagnostics and solutions tailored to the specific cause of the failures. We will assess the quality of your eggs, the embryo and the endometrium. We will identify the issue you are facing and propose a solution.

I’ve had four or more attempts

This is a sign that you need a holistic approach. As part of the Ferti Replan residential medical programme, over the course of three days, a team comprising a doctor, an embryologist, a dietitian and a psychologist will analyse the course of your treatment and your history of unsuccessful attempts, and draw up a specific plan for the next step.

Review from a Well-Known Doctor

You’ve been looking for the answer for a long time. You’ll find it here

Statistically, a single in vitro procedure is successful in around 33% of cases (effectiveness of embryo transfer in fresh cycles according to ESHRE/EIM data, 2020). But the chances increase with each subsequent, carefully planned attempt — after 6 IVF cycles, the cumulative chance of pregnancy reaches as high as 85% (INVICTA data calculated using the Kaplan–Meier method, 2019–2026).

Every treatment cycle is a step from which you emerge with greater knowledge — about what needs to be changed to bring you closer to success. We interpret this knowledge and turn it into a concrete next step.

What can we learn
from the experiments carried out so far?

In many cases, the reason for the failure of an in vitro procedure can be explained. Why do these procedures most often fail?

Egg and sperm quality

Age, health, stress, activity levels and any underlying medical conditions can reduce the quality of eggs. As part of the NAMI OOCYTE medical programme, we combine drug therapy, ovarian mesotherapy using platelet-rich plasma, and hyperbaric oxygen therapy. This approach is also effective when ovarian reserve is reduced. Regeneration at NAMI also supports sperm parameters.

Genetics and embryonic development

Genetic abnormalities in an embryo can hinder its development or lead to recurrent miscarriages. Medicine has a solution for this. Thanks to pre-implantation genetic testing (PGT), we select the highest-quality embryo for transfer and shorten the path to successful treatment. Selecting embryos with a normal chromosome set can increase the success rate of IVF by 28 per cent and reduce the risk of miscarriage by up to three times.

Embryo implantation

Even a good-quality embryo needs an endometrium that is ready to receive it. The endometrial receptivity and immunological profile test (REIA) provides three key diagnostic insights: when your individual implantation window occurs, whether there is an immunological factor hindering fertilisation, and whether there is an inflammatory process in the endometrium associated with endometriosis.

Would you like to find out,
which of these reasons applies to you?

Every procedure is a source of information.
It’s important to have a plan

Every examination and embryo transfer is a valuable source of information about the cause of in vitro fertilisation failures.

As part of the Ferti Replan programme at the NAMI Medical Resort and Clinic, your treatment to date is analysed by Prof. Krzysztof Łukaszuk — a pioneer in the field of infertility treatment in Poland and an expert on the government’s Council for the Treatment of Infertility. You will be given the most likely cause of your treatment failures, guidance on further diagnostic tests (if required) and a clear plan for the next steps.

This is an inpatient medical programme (3 days), during which — if necessary — you will undergo some tests on the spot and allow your body to recover, preparing it for the next stages of treatment.

Do you know why it hasn’t worked out so far? We’re coming up with a solution tailored to your needs.

Depending on the cause in your particular situation, we may use, amongst other things:

  • advanced genetic testing of the embryo (PGT),
  • procedures to improve egg quality prior to transfer (the NAMI OOCYTE programme),
  • REIA testing, which assesses the readiness of the endometrium to receive an embryo,
  • methods for selecting the highest-quality sperm when the cause is a male factor.

There are more couples facing what is known as a ‘difficult case’ than you might think — at INVICTA Clinics, this accounts for around 60 per cent of patients. We are always looking for solutions that will bring you closer to successful treatment.

Do you need to catch your breath before your next attempt? That’s part of the treatment too

Infertility treatment and any previous setbacks may have taken a heavy toll on your body and mind. As part of the programmes offered by the NAMI Medical Resort and Clinic, you can (either on your own or with your partner) take a deep breath whilst supporting your fertility.

At the NAMI Medical Resort and Clinic in Sopot, we take a 360° approach to looking after your body: the nervous system, sleep, nutrition, metabolism, physical tension and emotions. These are often underestimated factors that also affect fertility. We’ll prepare you for the next stages of treatment so that your body is in the best possible condition.

In vitro fertilisation with donor gametes – an effective method worth knowing about

Obtaining eggs, donor sperm or an embryo from a fertility bank is an option that may raise questions – but when the prognosis for using one’s own cells is very poor, it can be the most effective route to success.

The INVICTA Fertility Bank is the largest gamete bank of its kind in Poland. Donors undergo detailed examinations and a rigorous screening process – fewer than 3 per cent of those who apply to the programme are accepted as donors. The material comes from our own gamete bank, so we have full control over the process from qualification to transfer. This guarantees medical and legal safety, in accordance with current regulations.

Only at INVICTA can you conveniently browse and filter donor profiles online and reserve your chosen material from anywhere, without needing to contact the Clinic – all you need is a free account.

We’re taking a broader view of fertility

Fertility is a complex process – which is why our approach is based on four pillars: learning from each procedure, targeted diagnostics, tailored medical solutions and overall healthspan. No matter how many attempts you’ve made or what stage you’re at now – there’s always a next, concrete step.
